"Between the Gurus and the Lord,
Whose feet shall I touch first ?
But, of course the Gurus’
For having shown me the way to the Lord."
- kabir
"A University is essentially a community of students and teachers. The two have to work together for the one single purpose of advancing knowledge and disseminating it. If they are at any time distracted from this straight path of pursuing truth for its own sake and get led away, there will be a jeopardy to the community of the university."
(In 1955 in the Convocation at AMU)

"A student acquires quarter of his knowledge from his own intelligence, second quarter from his teachers, third quarter from his co-students and the fourth quarter, in course of time, by his experience."
